CYBERMINE is the access point to the physical world managing the field data for all components, which in turn will have access to them through the cloud and the METAMINE. The goal is to connect the physical with the digital world through technologies like IIoT, the cloud, edge computing and machine learning ensuring the smart mine design and predictive maintenance of equipment and vehicles.

Introducing the “mining metaverse” of the EU mines


The concept of the mining metaverse is a totally innovative approach that will become a paradigm for all industries. METAMINE is in the middle of the MASTERMINE platform orchestrating the operations of the other components of the project. All individual components will be modelled and integrated in the metaverse through online apps, executable digital twins and business intelligence to provide simulation and decision support to the user.

GEOMINE is the backbone of mine safety using multiplatform monitoring and optimal mine design and all state-of-the-art technologies to eliminate instabilities in critical structures, like tailing dams, waste dumps, slopes, tunnels, etc.

Establishing autonomous and electric operations

AUTOMINE  introduces the retrofitting of multi-OEM vehicles and equipment to become autonomous and electric along with smart monitoring and maintenance. This gives a massive boost in the environmental footprint of the mine, the air quality and safety in the underground mines and minimises the cost for ventilation.

Enhancing the environmental sustainability of the mines

GREENMINE addresses waste and water management, through raw material and water recovery from wastewater and ore sorting during magnesite ore processing, monitors air quality (e.g. intelligent methane drainage system for coking coal mines) and introduces solutions for energy and load optimisation.

Fostering community engagement & social innovation

Through the OURMINE module, the goal is to connect the mining industry with the surrounding community, building smart applications for open communication and data-driven social innovation. Blockchain technology will be used to improve the trust throughout the mining value chain.
